This session, Quality of Feedback with Toddlers, is from the Making the Most of CLASSroom Interactions training series organized around the Know, See, Do model of professional development for teachers. This training encourages and supports teachers’ use of CLASS to explain the impact of specific teacher-child interactions on children’s learning, identify effective teacher-child interactions in videos and in their classrooms, and strengthen their teaching practices by integrating more intentional teacher-child interactions.

This session, Language Modeling for PreK Students, is from the Making the Most of CLASSroom Interactions training series organized around the Know, See, Do model of professional development for teachers. This training encourages and supports teachers’ use of CLASS to explain the impact of specific teacher-child interactions on children’s learning, identify effective teacher-child interactions in videos and in their classrooms, and strengthen their teaching practices by integrating more intentional teacher-child interactions.

In a childcare environment, everyone plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety of the food provided to children. Join us to learn how to safeguard food, from its purchase at the store to ensuring it reaches the children without any risks.

To do something successfully or efficiently means having competence. This is a life skill that we can begin instilling in the very young population we work with in our early learning centers. In this training, ideas will be presented to help teachers learn how to build competence skills into the lives of young children.

This training encourages and supports teachers’ use of CLASS to explain the impact of specific teacher-child interactions on children’s learning, identify effective teacher-child interactions in videos and in their classrooms, and strengthen their teaching practices by integrating more intentional teacher-child interactions.

This 2-hour interactive training module will provide participants with high-level early language support in infant classrooms, through a deeper understanding of the Infant CLASS®tool and high-quality teacher-child interactions. Training participants will practice realistic strategies for implementing self-talk, imitating and initiating sounds or words; modeling turn-taking, and effectively using toys for expansion and extension of language. This training will also show how early language support strategies connect other Infant CLASS®dimensions, to support overall infant learning and care in both younger and older infants.

In this 2 hour session, learn about how you and your children are smart. Howard Gardner taught us that there are multiple ways of learning and being smart. Take a short personality quiz then learn how you are smart. What does this theory say about you and the individual children in your classroom. Learn about 8 different ways people learn and experience our world. Learn how to address those learning styles.

This 2-hour session will focus on successfully implementing curriculum in the early childhood classroom. Participants will explore the elements needed for, and their role in, curriculum implementation with specific attention given to the importance of a well-developed daily schedule, the purpose of intentional planning in the facilitation of high-quality teacher-child interactions, activities, and experiences, the value of using curriculum-aligned materials, the effective implementation of planned experiences through teacher-guided and child-initiated activities, the importance of using observations and assessments to evaluate children’s development and learning and to guide planning, and the need for modifying and adjusting activities based on children’s individual characteristics.

In this 2 hour session, learn about different learning styles and temperaments of young children. Participate in short quizzes that help identify your own personality type, temperament type and learning style. Then think about the children in your classroom and how they might match or be very different from some of the characteristics you learned about yourself. What does that mean for a classroom of learners. How can you make adjustments and use strategies to meet the needs of the young learners in your classroom.

Why is it essential to follow Universal/Standard Precautions in childcare, and do you need clarification? Join us to understand how adhering to Universal/Standard Precautions significantly reduces the risk of spreading germs that can lead to infections.

This training focuses on engaging children in conversations. In this session, you’ll learn how to get started in conversations with children and how important these conversations can be to young children’s development and learning.

In this 2 hour session we take a look at room arrangement, materials, equipment and activities that support the observation and documentation learned in TS GOLD. We use the ERS Inventory (ITERS and ECERS) to take an objective look at your own classroom set up. Do you have everything you need to outfit each center to maximize children’s experience and learning. You can set the stage to see the skills and behaviors listed in the 36 Objectives for learning and Development in TS GOLD. Use the activities in Gold and Frog Street Press to create opportunities for children to learn as they play and you document that learning. Learn ways to organize those experiences so you can see multiple skills among multiple childre at the same time, saving time and energy while maintaining accuracy and objectivity.

I’ll be honest, as the trainer who created this training, I did not enjoy taking math classes when I was in school. As an early childhood professional, I found myself avoiding math or number related activities with my toddlers and preschoolers, until I took a class that showed me how important basic math is for young children. In this training, you’ll learn how to do math with your little ones that is fun for you and fun for them.

Active supervision stands as the most effective strategy in childcare for creating a secure environment and preventing child injuries. Participants will acquire practical strategies to implement active supervision effectively.

In this session, participants will delve into the essential aspects of creating an effective early childhood environment. We will begin by reviewing the key components that constitute the physical environment of a classroom. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of what elements contribute to a well-designed early childhood setting, recognizing the critical role teachers play in shaping an environment that supports children’s learning and development.

We will explore how the physical environment influences children’s growth and development, providing insights into the tangible impact of a thoughtfully arranged classroom. To solidify this knowledge, participants will engage in practical activities, applying their learnings to evaluate their own classrooms from a fresh perspective, identifying areas for improvement to enhance the learning experience for children.

Help children learn about math and physics in the Block center by playing with balls and ramps. Use open ended questions to encourage children’s persistence and problem solving. Learn these concepts for yourself by playing with a variety of blocks, balls and ramps to develop activities and experiences for children in your block center. Learn how to equip a block center that maximizes children’s experiences.

In this training, we will explore how to use elements of drama to create stories that can be shared in classrooms for children of any age. We will brainstorm, write, and play as we learn how to use elements of the dramatic arts to create stories for young children.

When situations arise around behavior that is hurtful to children, teachers often have trouble seeing the situation from different perspectives. In the case of biting, there are many perspectives to consider in crafting a plan of action to address the behavior. This training is designed to help teachers consider these various perspectives as they plan appropriate action steps to take. Recognizing multiple points of view requires careful consideration of perspectives different from one’s own. It also requires that teachers put aside their personal point of view in order to consider other points of view. When teachers have the opportunity to practice considering multiple perspectives, they are more likely to be able to see and consider various points of view in future situations.

The training will cover the definition and importance of curriculum modifications, explaining when and why they are useful. It will provide an overview of eight general types of modifications that can be implemented in the classroom.

In this 2 hour session we learn about routines and practices that help children develop a sense of belonging in the classroom. Building a community of learners with children and their families strengthens the positive climate and builds relationships that foster children’s ability to learn, play and enjoy each other. Traditions and rituals are the building blocks that help children feel safe and connected. This helps children develop a healthy self esteem which leads to successful outcomes.

We all have stacks of blocks or shelves of blocks, or boxes of blocks in our classrooms. Most of our toddler classrooms were given to us already equipped with a set of blocks or a block center. What is so important about young children playing with blocks? And what brain connections are being built when young children are using blocks to build? Come to this interactive training to learn more.

This 2-hour training module will focus on early brain development and the effects that trauma can cause on the brain in early childhood. Participants will explore steps in the back and forth interaction between children and adults, and both executive function activities and self-regulation skills with children of all ages.

Inside the Minds of Preschoolers: Have you ever tried to give a child a broken cracker and has the child responded by yelling that two small parts of a cracker are not the same thing as one whole cracker? The brains of young children actually perceive the world and environment in different ways than adult brains perceive the things around them. In this training, we will explore ideas from Jean Piaget regarding how young children think.

Many cleaning and sanitizing chemicals can pose health risks, particularly to children. In this session, we will delve into safer cleaning practices within childcare settings. Participants will gain insights into cleaning products, best practices for chemical handling, and ways to enhance cleaning procedures in childcare environments.

This 2 hour interactive session will focus on strategies that help develop a love of learning and reading in children. Learn age appropriate ways to teach letter recognition, rhyming, alliteration that encourage young children’s love of language and meaning in the written word. How do children learn to write.
