In this 2 hour session, learn how center management increases cooperation, interactions and engagement in your children. What do you do when everyone wants to be in the Dramatic Play center and there’s not enough room. How can center management increase engagement with each other and promote meaningful play. What are appropriate rules for centers?

Do you have a big tub in your classroom for sensory play? Do you know how to use the materials? Do you know why we provide sensory play? In this very hands-on training we will explore the answers to those questions as we use our hands and senses to explore multiple sensory items.

This 2-hour module creates an awareness of the important role that the physical environment in the early childhood classroom plays in regards to student behavior and the process of teaching and learning. The environment comprises the setting itself (including materials and equipment), the people within the setting, and any learning experiences, routines, and schedules established within the setting. Using the standards as a basis for planning learning objectives and how those objectives can be carried out in interest areas is emphasized. Intentional planning and teaching can aid teachers in organizing developmentally appropriate activities that will allow children to learn and grow at their own pace. On-going assessment will guide further instruction.A carefully planned physical environment can help a program achieve its goals. Intentional teaching is, not only, important for the aspects of instruction and assessment, but is also equally important to the planning of the environment.

This training focuses on engaging children in conversations. In this session, you’ll learn how to get started in conversations with children and how important these conversations can be to young children’s development and learning.

This 2 hour interactive session will focus on strategies that help develop a love of learning and reading in children. Learn age appropriate ways to teach letter recognition, rhyming, alliteration that encourage young children’s love of language and meaning in the written word. How do children learn to write. What should you teach at what age to maximize children’s outcome in literacy. How do you observe and document children’s skills and behaviors in literacy objectives.

In this training we will discuss and practice how to engage older preschoolers with “why” and “how” questions and “tell me more” statements that lead to deeper levels of thinking. Providing feedback loops will also be a part of this training as we practice them ourselves.

This 2-hour, interactive session is about building and leading an effective team, including developing an environment that supports staff and the instructional needs of teachers. The workshop focuses on the importance of the trainees reflecting on the concepts of building and leading a team, and the environment in which that occurs, by brainstorming and giving their thoughts first. Then some answers to the question are given by the instructor so that comparisons may be made and a full definition of each concept emerges. At the end, we look at the differences between empowerment and delegation, teacher development, and characteristics of adult learners.

This 2-hour interactive training module will provide participants with high-level early language support in infant classrooms, through a deeper understanding of the Infant CLASS®tool and high-quality teacher-child interactions. Training participants will practice realistic strategies for implementing self-talk, imitating and initiating sounds or words; modeling turn-taking, and effectively using toys for expansion and extension of language. This training will also show how early language support strategies connect other Infant CLASS®dimensions, to support overall infant learning and care in both younger and older infants.

This 2 hour session is focused on high quality infant care based on research by Ron Laly’s PTIC program in California and Zero to Three Website. What is curriculum for Infants? How do you manage all of the routines needed for children under 15 months of age. What are some of the trends in infant care in other countries. How do I communicate effectively with infants and their families?

In this 2 hour session, we discuss our family of origin and how they impact our family today. Including all families in our program and ways to engage them in respectful and authentic ways. Help support the bond between the child and family by the way we interact with children and their family. Share activities with families that supports their efforts to teach, nurture and engage their child.

Active supervision stands as the most effective strategy in childcare for creating a secure environment and preventing child injuries. Participants will acquire practical strategies to implement active supervision effectively.
