Tiered CLASS Model of Professional Development

Tier I: (Eligible for Stipend)

In this first level of building knowledge, leaders and teachers learn about effective interactions through Introduction to CLASS Training sessions.  These three-hour virtual trainings are individualized by age level so that teachers receive information about effective interactions appropriate to the age of children they are teaching.  Teachers will learn the basics of the CLASS instrument, learn about effective teacher-child interactions and the ways these interactions help children learn.

Tier II

This tier of PD offers leaders and teachers the opportunity to begin applying knowledge about effective interactions to their own classrooms through a group coaching series, Making the Most of Classroom Interactions (MMCI). These highly interactive sessions will be offered on weeknights and Saturdays, with stipends also available for teachers for their time.

CLASS Group Coaching (CGC)
formerly known as Making the Most of CLASSroom Interactions (MMCI)

Think about your favorite group learning experience. What made it so memorable? Was it the collaboration with your peers? Learning from each other’s experience? Feeling supported in your practice?  You will get all the above and more in the CGC series.

CLASS Group Coaching is a training series organized around the Know, See, Do model of professional development for teachers. This training series encourages and supports teachers’ use of CLASS to explain the impact of specific teacher-child interactions on children’s learning, identify effective teacher-child interactions in videos and in their classrooms, and strengthen their teaching practices by integrating more intentional teacher-child interactions.

This program will support teachers’ growth no matter their experience level with CLASS.
